Does Heaven Rejoice Any Less For Any Particular Believer?

does heaven rejoice any lessDoes heaven rejoice any less when certain people come home? Have you ever thought about that? Sometimes I think about the amazing people who serve God and other human beings in such self-sacrificing ways. Then there are many others who nobody will ever know about. Their accomplishments may not be in the limelight, but it doesn’t mean their lives don’t matter. Many serve in ways that can be just as important. Maybe the elderly “shut-in” who prays for her family or our leaders. Maybe it is the husband or father who works hard to provide for their family and so many countless other examples.

And yes, the police officer who serves and protects us out on the street should be respected. They deal with a lot of unpleasant stuff in the course of their important work for humanity. This video is quite touching. It was originally posted by Faithwire.com. You can check out their website for more information.

As I was watching, my heart filled with renewed appreciation for all the police do for us, but also, his poem he wrote for a fallen officer spoke so eloquently about those we love making that journey home to  heaven. For all the officers do, does heaven rejoice any less for those that finally come home to heaven that also serve in less noticeable ways?

You think about some of those people we are taught about in the Bible. People that showed awesome faith that I no where near come close to. Yet these same people had their strengths and weaknesses too, just like the rest of us. None of them were perfect, but God worked through their lives. From Adam and eve through all the disciples,  when we read their stories, some of them had some pretty serious hiccups in their lives. Times when they really messed up. Even incidences where some today might say they couldn’t be followers of Christ. But I think most of us are aware that just because we call ourselves followers of Christ doesn’t mean we are without flaws. Praise be to God that He loves us anyway. We may falter at times, but we just got to get back on track. It’s all part of the trek and walking with the Lord.

These stories shared in God’s word of these folks thankfully remind us that God doesn’t only love those who are perfect. If that were true, he wouldn’t love any of us. He’d be pretty lonely in  heaven.  But, He knows our hearts. He knows our thoughts. And He tells us that He wants to be included in our lives; all the good, bad and sometimes ugly parts.

Each person is an individual and may have a different level of faith throughout their lives. The Bible makes several references to people having varying degrees of faith. Yet all believers who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior are saved.  God’s word tells us this. I might admire someone like Billy Graham whose faith seems solid as a rock and who has lived a life of serving God and others, but I also admire the average everyday person who is living out their life of faith according to who they are in Christ.

Let's build others up by helping and encouraging as we are all in this together.

Let’s build others up by helping and encouraging as we are all in this together.

In Romans 14 and 15, it speaks of how God has accepted all believers and that we should encourage each other, not judge each other because of our seemingly different levels of faith.

For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. Romans 14:7-8

I love this verse and hope it answers the question for you, does heaven rejoice any less … (you can fill in the blank)

Thanks goes out to all the police officers who do what they do. We need you, more now than ever with all that is going on in our world. To the one who was honored in the video above, no doubt heaven is rejoicing for their new citizen. For those loved ones and fellow officers that continue to live out their faith on this current earth, take comfort in your grief that he has reached home safely.
