Peacock Display Makes Me Think About How God Can Impress

When I first saw the male peacock dancing for the female peacock, I thought men should do that for women. Then I thought about it and realized that they often do. Not in an impressive display of feathers, but basically in similar ways with the goal of impressing the woman they are trying to court. It then occurred to me that God has given us so many wonders that try to get our attention on Him.

There are many things around us that will impress the socks off us if we are paying attention. I think often though, we take things for granted as we are just trying to get through each day. That’s a shame.

Just the peacock itself is a wonder. I mean what a unique and gorgeous display of feathers. This is God’s creation. It is just one of many examples of the unique and awesome creatures that have been put on this earth for our enjoyment.

God’s love for us is displayed in many ways. There is God’s word, which is foundational, solid, you know. Then there are little things that might go unnoticed throughout your day. Then there is also those times when He shows you in flashy ways. Maybe it is the magnificence of a peacock spreading its feathers. It could be the funny puffer fish or the brightly colored birds in unique patterns. If you have studied the human body, that alone points to a creator. The intricate workings of the body and even our universe are simply amazing.

If the Creator of the world made such intricate beings and world, all for us who He wants to have fellowship with, wouldn’t you want to be around Him too? Who wouldn’t want to be with the Creator who loves you like that? That’s amazing! I know for myself though, it is easy to get focused on just getting through each day with all that needs to be taken care of for that day, but now and then, the amazingness of it all seeps through.

Take time today to learn about something wacky and curious that points to the God who loves you. It can be quite reassuring and uplifting.
