You May Be Thinking, Will Life Always Be So Hard?

I found out today that a squirt of lemon juice in your eye is brutal, but it is only for a few minutes. It reminded me that life is like that. We may have a few minutes of pain, respectively, but these moments will not be forever. When we reach our forever home in heaven, there will be no more tears, no more pain and those times will be minute in the big scheme of time. Our heavenly life with our Savior will be joyous and we will no longer live under the curse that causes so much turmoil.

life will not always be so hard

Just like that song, There Will Be A Day, which I heard this morning. There will be a day when all the painful moments will be a thing of the past. Remembering this can help you endure those trials. Some day, they will seem insignificant in the light of our heavenly home.

That is not to say the hard times are insignificant and serve no purpose. Obviously, they are often quite significant to us when we are struggling to walk through them, when our strength and emotions are affected. And those times can definitely serve a purpose even though we’d rather not be going through that particular event.

I say insignificant only because the pain and trials of this present earth will take a backseat to the wonders of our joy in heaven. It’s like the excruciating pain and labor of childbirth. You may writhe in pain and cry out as you are delivering, but the moment you see your new baby, all that pain you were having just moments before will seem like a far off distant memory. One minute you might be screaming that you will never do this ever again, then you see that beautiful new life and you are saying, “I can do this again.” Everything else in the universe fades in importance as you focus on this new life. So, will it be in heaven. God calls it paradise. He reassures us saying that we’ll no longer have a reason to cry or to have pain.

The apostle Paul writes in Romans …

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed . For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.

We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Non only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness . We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will. Romans 8:18-27

When your life journey takes you on a difficult path, remember Jesus will see you through it, if you want Him to and that life will not always be this hard. In John 16:33, Jesus tells us … In this world, you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world.”
