Loved Pets In Heaven; Another Gift…

I believe there are many reasons to believe our loved pets will be in heaven.  Having a dog that you strongly connect with is a gift in itself. This connection can vary depending on personalities, just like our human friends. There are certain spirits we tend to connect closer with, but each one is special and truly a gift.

The dog is the most faithful of animals and would be much esteemed were it not so common. Our Lord God has made his greatest gift the commonest.”

Martin Luther

The Bible tells us that perfect gifts come from above in James 1:16-18, “Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.”

If God planned all of history to give us ample opportunity to choose whether we wanted to be with Him forever and provided the Way, wouldn’t He also know how to give other good gifts?

God knows how to give good gifts. Matthew 7:9-11 makes a point of encouraging us regarding this, it states, “Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” He knows how to give good gifts and that is another reason why God would want to reunite you with your beloved pets in heaven.

Of course, who can deny the greatest gift as Romans 6:23 tells us, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Do you think God will stop giving you gifts when you get to heaven? No, the Bible says our joy in heaven will be more than we could ever imagine.

For many of us, next to our human family, wouldn’t the best gift be our dog friends? God knows and cares about our heart. He is on our side through the good and not so good in life. And although we don’t understand everything, we are taught to trust Him.

If your dog or pet has left you from your earthly home, God knows your loss and some day you will understand. Share your grieving pain with the Lord who loves you. Let Him comfort you and reassure you that your beloved dog or pet is being cared for in heaven until it is your turn to come, then, what a wonderful reunion that will be.
