Viewing Heaven From This Current Earth’s Path And Beyond

Viewing heaven from this current earth’s path can be challenging. A couple days ago, I wrote about the graying of our morals in today’s world, but here’s the other part of that. Have you ever thought about heaven as it relates to that thought process? In heaven, you will not have these blurring of lines, all will be clear. There will not be this heaviness of spirit that we often have here. There will be no more sorrow and pain that might cause sadness and weariness. Jesus, our Savior and Friend will be as clear as the morning sunrise on a crystal clear day. Ah, but even that will be clearer.

There are not many crystal clear days, but once in a while we get to experience one. But even those days are not perfectly clear. In heaven, all these still beautiful scenes we see about us will be crisp and clear beyond what he can even imagine now. I imagine just their sparkling beauty will invigorate our spirits. It is fun to look around and imagine that same thing in heaven, what it might feel like to take in the sight without the blemishes caused by the troubles of this earth, both environmental and the general stain sin has left on us and the world.

It is a shame that there is so much that is misunderstood about heaven and what it is like. Unfortunately, we are not told much in church. I have been walking with the Lord many years. I have trusted that I am loved by God but I wasn’t taught much about heaven. Over the last few years, I have been studying about heaven. I think it is impossible to know all about what heaven is like, but God’s word does tell us quite a bit.

I think growing up, heaven was surrounded in mystery. Honestly, I didn’t give it a lot of thought. I am not sure young people do as a whole. I saw death a lot though in my work, both as a paramedic and nurse, but only in recent years did I develop a fascination with this place people go when they “die.” How wonderful to learn what I have so far. It has helped me in many ways in my life. It has also helped me as a nurse, especially when working in hospice.

Many people facing death were looking for some reassurance about the place they were going. Many family members were needing this too. Some already knew and their peace with losing their loved one was made easier. I have come across some atheists too who didn’t want spiritual care involved even though it was always offered when someone came on our hospice service.

God gives everyone a choice, but it still baffles me why someone wouldn’t want to be with the God who loves them. The God who went to a lot of trouble to provide a way for people to be reconciled to Him just so He could have fellowship with them. It is hard to let these people go without trying to convince them of God’s love for them. Some might ask near the end, but some have had opportunity throughout their lives, but have chosen their path and there is no changing it.

I really want people to understand if they have accepted God’s gift of salvation through Jesus, death is not to be feared. Heaven is a real place and it appears it is much like here only without the misery and all is perfectly clear. No matter how old you are, trust the Lord, who has demonstrated His desire to be with you forever throughout time, and do not fear this inevitable journey to heaven.

Though we cannot always answer why some people leave this earth the way they do or when they do, we will some day understand. I believe there are many interwoven variables to these answers that we will only understand on the other side, not on this current earth. I am not even sure we could always handle all the details with only our current earthly perspective. There are some missing understandings for all of us to some degree or another.

When your time comes, trust the Lord as you now are viewing heaven from this current earth’s path, but soon you will be viewing heaven beyond what you could even begin to understand while on this current earth and all will make sense.

And if you should still be here when the trumpets blow, don’t even hesitate to go home with Jesus. Viewing heaven from this current earth’s path will be made clear and you will be viewing heaven for what it is and peace will overwhelm you.
